Lake Arenal is beautiful and is close to the Arenal Volcano. Here’s the view of the lake from Sabalito, the town I stayed in.

The very scary launch / landing. Depending on the direction of the wind you have to sometimes launch / land facing land and there’s not much room for error.

Your humble guide and narrator, on a 12 M Cabrinha Switchblade. I was overpowered and went down to a 9 M Cabrinha Convert and had a blast.

I had the tilapia at the Volcano Brewing Company and it was delicious, and caught in the lake. Two days later I saw one leap out of the water twice in front of me while I was kiteboarding.
